Art Conversations WA

Art Conversations WA is a Perth-based collective of nine artists, founded in 2023. We come from different backgrounds and work in different ways, across painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, video and installation. What brought us together wasn't a shared medium or subject matter, but something harder to pin down.

Our collective grew from the Call and Response projects, Conversations I and II, held at the Inglewood Arts Hub, where artists were invited to look at each other's work and respond to it. That act of response, of being moved by something and feeling compelled to make something in reply, is the impulse that brought us together, and it remains the foundation of how we think about making art.

We meet regularly to look at and discuss each other's work, bringing honesty and critical input, but always with genuine interest. We visit exhibitions together and talk about what moves us and why. Over time, these conversations have shaped how each of us works individually. 

We make better art because we are in this group.
