anita grewal
Anita Grewal is a Perth-based visual artist who uses colour as her primary medium. She creates abstract geometric compositions in gouache on watercolour paper, where colour relationships generate illusions of transparency, depth and movement.
Born in England and raised in India, her practice draws on the colour theories of Josef Albers and the perceptual energy of Bridget Riley, alongside science fiction, Indian architecture and miniature painting traditions.
Before focusing on her studio practice, Anita worked internationally as a mathematics teacher across England, India, Colombia, the United States and Germany, settling in Perth, Australia in 2018.
She holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the Australian National University and has exhibited across Perth and Canberra, including as a finalist in the City of Bayswater and Wanneroo Community Art Awards.
