Ivana Matic Girard is an emerging artist whose practice is deeply informed by her rich cultural heritage, spanning Serbian and Hungarian roots. Born in Serbia, Ivana has lived in diverse regions, including France, the Middle East, and Australia, each location contributing to her evolving understanding of identity, belonging, and the world around her. These experiences, alongside her academic background, shape her approach to art. Ivana's work explores themes of Identity & Belonging, Impermanence & Memory, and Nature & Connection, using various media to express the complexities of human existence.
Ivana is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Fine Art at Curtin University. Her work has been showcased in group exhibitions in Australia and France, including “Beyond the Surface” (2024) at Curtin University, where she also contributed as a curator. Beyond her artistic practice, Ivana holds a Diploma of Counselling and a Master of Public Health, blending her passion for art with her interest in how creative expression impacts physical and mental health.
